This building is surrounded by lush greenery of the park on three sides and a beautiful rose garden in the front. The park has well laid paths for people to enjoy their nature walk. It was Spring time and social media was flooded with pictures of Bangalore Blooms in which Cubbon park had a special mention. Being a Bangalorean, I feel sad to say that I have never visited Cubbon park till date. At Government Aquarium, visitors can see aquatic creatures on display in over 3 floors.

Law Garden

A 20-million-year-old fossilized tree — a gift from the Geological Survey of India, is also reported at the park. It is undisputedly the largest public library in the state as evidenced by the college students thronging to read here, and has the world's most extensive collection of Braille books. Another impressive artistic structure is Iyer Hall, which houses the Central Library with a rose garden as a frontage. Other attractions at the park are the Ringwood circle, lotus pond and bamboo grove nook.

It was in Mysore zoo, that pair of Orangutans, Gorilla and some Chimpanzees were brought in an Indian zoo for the first time (1977). Many exotic animals are displayed in natural environment so as to create awareness about their protection and to offer an educative experience about them. Later, these zoological gardens eventually in 1979 were transferred to the Zoo Authority of Karnataka. It was later called as Palace Zoological gardens. 3 km from the heart of the city, Mysore zoo is famed to be one of the oldest and the largest zoos in India.

Kempegowda International Airport is the new airport on Bengaluru city’s outskirts, around a one-hour drive from Cubbon Park. M.G. Road, Kasturba Road, Hudson Circle, and Ambedkar Road are the main roads around the park.
